Welcome to Independence Day 2014, the day we celebrate our independence through revolutionary violence from Great Britain.

In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Wow, that’s tough talk, especially since declaration was illegal. In the eyes of the British Government, the Continental Congress was no more legitimate than the New Black Panther Party. In legal circles, our founding father’s were nothing more than common criminals, rabble rousers and yes, terrorists. George Washington, Ho Chi Min or Che Guevara all wore the same uniform, as revolution is a different kind of war.  Wars are fought to preserve the established order; revolutions are fought to create a new order.

Ten’s of thousands of otherwise law-abiding citizens, willing to throw their lives away for an idea, a smoky, nebulous proposition of a better world, somewhere in the future. Maybe not even a better world for themselves, but a better world for someone. Stop and ask yourself, just what would it take to make you leave the comfort of your homes and join a general armed insurrection, against the most powerful military in the world?

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Seems crystal clear, doesn’t it? We have the inalienable right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. That’s government’s job, that’s what we pay them for. Under the North American Free Trade Act, American’s were promised tens of thousands of new jobs, which never arrived. Instead, 5.5 million American jobs have been shipped overseas. It has created massive unemployment, poverty and hardship for millions, rewarding only the bottom feeder and the speculator. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, i.e. sending millions of jobs overseas.

Without a job, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, becomes a cruel joke. A minimum wage of $7.25 and hour is a cruel joke. Forcing American workers into direct competition with 3rd world wages constitutes an act of treason. A government sponsored policy working directly against the average American’s financial ability to enjoy, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Our Wal-Mart greeter in Chief, has declared immigration reform to be a top priority for his second term. Despite public opinion polls declaring by a wide margin “Jobs” to be the nation’s top priority. How can government be considered legitimate, if it ignores the people and fails to restore the economy? Public opinion polls show public’s approval of Congress wavering between 5% and 8%. What would you think of the headline: Russian Public Support for Vladimir Putin’s Government Hovers at 8%?

I wonder sometimes, why the right-wing is so obsessed with Benghazi or a birth certificates and so unconcerned with the 20 million unemployed or under-employed Americans. These are heads of households, many with children. Do they really want to nail Barrack Obama, or do they just want to score points? Scoring points works to obfuscate the Republican’s shared responsibility. Obama puts forth a $787 billion dollar stimulus, giving 35% in tax cuts to corporate America and the remaining $511 billion for 307 million Americans. Germany’s Angela Merkel also proposed a $500 billion stimulus package… for 100 million Germans. There’s really no point in running down to the creek to fetch half a pail of water.

Human beings don’t just wake up and decide to become revolutionaries. They become revolutionaries when they feel there is no hope or no help; they’re drafted by circumstance into becoming revolutionaries. When a government works against their interests or has no concern for their well-being, a revolution begins. When government stifles legitimate protest, a revolution begins. When the strands of opportunity are pulled from the web of life, there is no other option, but revolution. Not in provocative action, but in a provocative reaction to their situation and to their poverty, the government sponsored form of terrorism.

“And the great owners, who must lose their land in an upheaval, the great owners with access to history, with eyes to read history and to know the great fact: when property accumulates in too few hands it is taken away. And that companion fact: when a majority of the people are hungry and cold they will take by force what they need.     I think this might be your best effort.

    However, as Goebbels knew, you don’t JUST oppress. He knew that if you tell those who are being ground under the boot heel that it is all the fault of “them”, you can unite the proles in a common hatred of “them”… to the point when the proles can be made to support and implement genocide of “them”.

    That recipe is being followed again today, though refined a bit. 50M are not working (enough) but lie and say only 12M of them are “unemployed”, so it’s actually getting better. We’ve lost 20M middle-caste jobs and replacing them with a similar number (finally) of mcjobs.. but mcjobs count just as much as all those laid off policemen and auto workers and machinists and so on… so it’s all good.
    Then, for those who cannot ignore their growling bellies nor their hovels in crime-ridden areas (by circumstance, not by choice), you tell them that their plight is the fault of illegals or muslims or gays or uppity women or GOVERNMENT LIBERALS… or all of the above. A tasty smorgasbord for hate. Something for anyone.

    But you know what? It isn’t really “them”. It’s us. WE vote for these shitstains. We’ve been voting for darker, smellier shitstains ever since we landslided Reagan. We’ve cloned Reagan 8 more times since. We’ll clone Reagan again in 2016.

    Voters need to look in the mirror. Your enemy will be staring back at you.
